Who We Are
Mission statement
ChristieCare creates and delivers mental health solutions that promote enriched, full lives for children and families.
As one of the oldest continuously operating agencies serving children and families in Oregon, the roots of ChristieCare date back to 1859, the year Oregon achieved statehood.
From our early beginnings serving families arriving on the Oregon Trail, ChristieCare has evolved as a leader in providing effective solutions for children and families coping with significant mental health challenges.
Today, ChristieCare serves thousands of children and families throughout Oregon and the Pacific Northwest. All programs are guided by our Re-Education (Re-ED™) treatment philosophy, a dynamic approach centered on helping troubled children build competence and achieve success, rather than focusing solely on their problems. Through Re-ED™ we build collaborative, supportive relationships with families and help create healthier, more stable environments.
ChristieCare services are developed and delivered by a highly trained and skilled team including educators, nurses, psychiatrists, Licensed Clinical Social Workers, therapists and teacher counselors. All Program Directors and Managers possess Master’s Degrees, and all members of the clinical team possess at least Bachelor’s Degrees. The high value we place on academic excellence is evident in our partnership with Oregon Health & Science University, the state’s only health and research university, whose clinical rotations for their Psychiatric Fellows occur in ChristieCare programs.
ChristieCare is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) and licensed by the Oregon Department of Human Services (DHS) – Addictions & Mental Health Division.
ChristieCare is a member of the American Re-EDucation Association (AREA) and the Oregon Alliance of Children’s Programs (OACP).
