The 2007 Chocolate Ball: Sweet Success!

The Third Annual ChristieCare Chocolate Ball, sponsored by Regence BlueCross BlueShield of Oregon, was an artistic, culinary and financial success. Approximately 400 guests attended the sold-out event held February 10th at Montgomery Park, and they danced, dined, celebrated and, of course, indulged in some of the finest chocolate creations that Portland’s top chocolatiers and restaurants have to offer. It was a wonderful evening for ChristieCare and its supporters. Major sponsors also included ACS and the Maybelle Clark Macdonald Fund.

The event, along with the Children’s Chocolate Brunch held February 3rd, raised over $500,000 for children and families served by ChristieCare. Every donation made at the Chocolate Ball was matched dollar-for-dollar by a special group of ChristieCare patrons, including Ardy & Richard Wielde, Marilyn & Robert Pamplin, Jr., Anne Pamlin-Evenson, Amy Pamplin North, and the Macdonald Fund. Ms. Wielde chaired the Ball for the second straight year.

The Children’s Chocolate Brunch, sponsored by Oil Can Henry’s, was also a sold-out event. Kids, parents and grandparents packed Montgomery Park for the circus-themed festivities, which included carnival games, face painting, chocolate modeling clay, a carousel bouncer and the always-popular chocolate fountain. The Brunch was chaired by Toni Morgan.
