2006 ChristieCare Cup Pro-Am Charity Golf Classic
For the second straight year, ChristieCare delivered on a promise to provide our dedicated sponsors and supporters a truly unforgettable golfing experience.
In partnership with Presenting Sponsor West Coast Bank and our friends at the Oregon Chapter of the Professional Golfers Association (OPGA), the 2006 ChristieCare Cup Pro-Am Charity Golf Classic on August 27-28th, 2006 at Columbia Edgewater Country Club was a huge success.
Twenty-eight of Oregon’s top professional golfers qualified for the ChristieCare Cup based on their play in Pacific Office Automation Pro-Am Series events held throughout the spring and summer. Each pro then teamed up with an amateur threesome from each ChristieCare Cup sponsor and competed on Columbia Edgewater’s nationally-recognized course.
Congratulations to our Professional Champion, Brent Murray of Oswego Lake Country Club, whose 64 edged last year’s winner, Birk Nelson of Diamond Woods, by a single stroke. Birk did manage to stay in the winner’s circle as a member of the Team Champion, alongside amateurs Jim Jeddeloh, Dave Sullivan and Mike Carl.
The biggest winners, of course, are the children and families served by ChristieCare. All event proceeds directly support ChristieCare’s growing array of community and residential programs.
Apart from the high level of competitive golf and the involvement of the pros, what makes the ChristieCare Cup unique is the relaxed and festive atmosphere that has become a trademark of all ChristieCare events. During the pre-tournament pairing party, guests were treated to a Par 3 competition with the pros, a complimentary shopping experience featuring the latest TaylorMade equipment and adidas apparel, and a Masters-inspired southern dinner.
