Clackamas River

The Clackamas River Native American Program offers culturally responsive residential treatment for Native American youth. We work with youth and families in this culturally specific program to address emotional, spiritual, cultural, educational and physical needs. Program staff works closely with their families and tribal communities. In addition, our Native American Advisory Council is actively involved in developing the program, providing input on clinical direction, cultural activities, tribal healing practices, and cultural issues.

The program relies on the best-practice treatment model of trauma informed care, designed to serve children, youth and families who have repeatedly experienced a variety of traumatic events. This program enables young people to reconnect with family, community, and tribal traditions, thus reducing the isolation that is a major factor in depression and emotional struggles.
